Shoe shopping is supposed to be a fun activity for women to do together, however, some women who experience edema as a symptom of other conditions (such as diabetes, arthritis, treatment of cancer or circulatory and vascular conditions) can find it to be a discouraging and strenuous journey.

Typical expandable footwear allows for wiggle room in only one to two areas of the shoe, whereas Pandere's patented shoes offer expandability in three areas of the shoe. Customize your shoes in the toebox, midfoot, and even the ankle and heel to reach ultimate levels of comfort. These shoes expand up to 1.5 shoe sizes in width and volume!

Pandere's patented shoes are designed to expand in key places where traditional shoe shapes and sizes tend to disappoint. One of the trickiest parts of designing an expandable shoe is retaining support and structure. Expansion and support are often in conflict with each other. Pandere has developed a shoe that both expands and supports.
We decided to choose Portugal as our place to start manufacturing because the country has a rich and wonderful history of making beautiful and high-quality handcrafted shoes. So we thought, “Where else but here?”
Our shoes are manufactured at a facility that makes diabetic and comfort shoes. Our outsoles are made of a lightweight flexible performance rubber compound with a traction grip bottom and anti-skid properties. They offer the comfort and flexibility that women all around the world have been craving from a supportive pair of shoes.
Finding shoes has been a lifelong struggle for founder Laura Oden. She has had lymphedema for almost 40 years. Edema, diabetes, pregnancy, arthritis and a host of other conditions can cause one or both feet to swell. Turns out millions of women experience this struggle daily, and it’s time to do something about it.
We turned to Kickstarter because we saw ourselves on the leading edge of something that could impact millions of lives all over the world. We believe Pandere shoes will restore dignity, comfort and mobility to people with hard-to-fit feet. We’ve heard the stories and silent struggles of women all around the world with this problem. We decided it was time to give them a voice, and let them be heard.
